2.5 years experience. Which business schools do I have a shot yet? [#permalink]
Indian Female applicant with a 740 and 2.5 years( At the time of joining)- You can take a shot at several Top schools. Whatever . you will have after 4 years of work experience, you got to showcase that maturity RIGHT NOW- Today. Statistically speaking- you will do fine as long as you tell them- You are Ready!

Indian Male applicants with 700 to 740 GMAT, and 2.5 years of work experience- Some schools will ask you to wait for a year before you apply. Not because they think that you are not as mature as Indian Women :) - NO! But because there are TOO MANY Indian male applicants with these scores and profiles.

Specific advice for spharvuatnhi: Do not waste a single day! Start Applying. You have nothing to lose. The worst that will happen is- You will be REJECTED! On the brighter side, you will have saved a year of your life. Don't think too much. You are not ruled out for this year.

Major in Pharmacy from a top engineering college in India-GPA:8.3 (Have a paper published in an international journal)
Work ex: 2.5 years at the time of joining (1.5 years at a not-so-good profile in a top investment bank, 1 year at a non-profit org)

Hello spharvuatnhi,
If your lack of work experience concerns you, consider these top MBA programs that allow early career candidates and less experienced candidates to apply and defer their enrollment: https://aringo.com/deferred-enrollment- ... xperience/

If you are interested in healthcare, take a look at this list: https://aringo.com/health-care-mba-programs/

Good luck!

Due to your impressive GMAT score, there is no reason to have any concern in this area. The top business schools in America, Harvard, Stanford, Chicago and Wharton, have all accepted applicants with scores lower than yours.
Regarding your work experience, spend time whilst working on your CV to make your experience sound impressive and appealing to admission officers. Research traits that admission officers are looking for, there is plenty of information online, and try to apply some of these traits to your previous experience whilst writing your CV and preparing for your interview. Leadership skills are high on the list of important traits for admission officers, so be sure to you include your time volunteering.
Research the universities that offer the specific area that you want to go into as universities differ in the specializations that they offer. The UNC Kenan-Flagler School of Business offer a Master of Business Administration with a Specialization in Healthcare program and many other universities offer MBA in Healthcare Management programs (Wharton and Duke are two that come into mind). However, most universities offer some kind of Operations Management or Consulting specialty.

GOOD LUCK!
