The FT rankings always seem strange to me...
First of all, it's hard to compare US schools to European and Asian schools.
Second, placing Booth at #9 and Kellogg at #15 does not reflect the reality in my opinion.

Among European bschools, SDA Bocconi did particularly well, moving up 8 places and ranking now 31th worldwide and 11th in EU

Indian B school IIM-B got first time its position at 68 no. Well that is good news BUT you know that IIM-A slipped the ranking from 20 to 32 and ISB also slipped. But don't under-estimate indian B schools as they defeated HARVARD in career progression rate by claiming the 2nd,3rd,4th spots in ranking table.

I always feel like these rankings are outliers; while there are differences in formula and opinions that go into the rankings, the FT ones feel like they pull them out of a hat. For instance Boston University & Boston College are around 40-43 in most rankings I've seen. They're around 80 in these...Even pulling out international schools that are ahead of them, they'd still be around 70. I guess I could read up on their formula, but honestly other than the top 5 it just seems random. Kellogg #15? That's crazy-low

When comparred with the other ranking services, Financial Times is always moving in reverse. Just one example: Wash U Olin gained positions in all the other rankings and is loosing positions here. They aren't a top ranking service in my view...

Hi,
I am persuing my MBA from NotreDame Mendoza school of business which ranks 20 in Business-week rankings and in the US News rankings ranked 27 and still doesnot appear in the global top 100 which is baffling since many schools such as Urbana Shapagne and UC Irwine are way down on these rankings.Please confirm whether this is a mistake and is it because the NotreDame school didn't even participate in the rankings system atall.

It's not as though these rankings are "wrong" in any sort of way. The criteria they use is just different. NotreDame must not have very good faculty in comparison.

I've noticed similar discrepancies with the school I completed my MBA at and their rankings by different publications.
