2019 US News Rankings - HBS is #3, Wharton #1, and 5 Schools in Top 3

Question

Lots of changes:

Tuck dropping out of top 10 and tied with Darden
Fuqua, Yale and Ross in the top 10
Haas not ranked 7 after 10 years
Sloan & Booth tied with HBS and all below Wharton and Stanford

Thanks so much for posting it! You beat me to it! Biggest Changes: Year has been updated (last Year US News called it 2019 Rankings. This year, it is still 2019

There are 5 schools in the Top 3. How does that work? Lots of Ties - most of the schools are tied. It seems US News has a harder time ranking schools and they are probably a bit lost. It is now 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 10. For the first time in 12 years, Haas is NOT ranked #8. But if you look, it actually is... 13 Years in a row as #8. What are the chances of that? I don't understand why Yale is not ranked the same as Ross and Fuqua. It would look so much cleaner 1, 2, 3, 6, 9.... Marshall went from #20 to #17. 2 Years ago, it was #24. 3 Years ago it was #31. This is probably the most interesting development besides that HBS is ranked worst of any Top 3 programs

Still weird seeing a number other than the usual in front of Haas

Any idea what could've caused the drop in Tuck's ranking? Not that changes in a single year are a big deal, but I'm genuinely curious.

I am very bummed about Tuck dropping in rankings this year. I think a lot of people have held Tuck in a special place. I am afraid the answer for the drop may be the same as why Haas has been #8 for 13 years straight - who knows.

It is interesting that Yale outranked Tuck this year. That has never happened. I am heading to bed but I will dig in the rankings data to see if I can find some pointers...

Strange to have so many ties, especially when you dig into the methodology, since it supposedly uses metrics like average gpa, average gmat, starting salary etc where each school would have its own unique value which are then weighted accordingly, so you would think there would be at least some (albeit possibly minuscule) difference between the programs.
