Rituja Bakshi
Hello Sir,
I need your advice on an urgent basis.
Following are the details of my profile:
1. Working as Business Development Manager (Womenswear) in a well to do fashion & tech startup.
2. Have 4 years of experience in the fashion business (3 years in leadership experience)
3. Aided by engineering education : CGPA 7.58/10
4. 10th : 87% , 12th: 76%
5. My USP: Shifted to fashion (where my passion lies) from technical background and will be continuing my career in the same field.
6. Reason for MBA : Need to learn more concepts & its applications, and to be exposed to more case studies, network, and work in a more advance domain.
7. Target School : HEC Paris, IE Spain
Problem Statement : I have given GMAT twice (alongside my work) and got a score of 650. This does not reflect the best of my abilities. I am certain that if I leave work, and give my 100% to my preparation towards MBA (GMAT+ Application) I will see the results and will pan out well. However, if I leave my work at the moment, and apply in the second round, I will have a gap of 3-4 months.
I need to know how does this reflect on my profile? My mind is currently torn apart with pros and cons.
I agree with the other poster - are you sure an MBA will provide the best ROI for you? Would it make sense from a financial perspective? Fashion schools seem like another option to me. Also, wondering if you can take a leave of absence without quitting your job. That would be optimal.
I advise my GMAT clients to get up one hour earlier per day and focus on the GMAT, for a period of six weeks. This ensures you are giving the GMAT your best of you and not what is left at the end of a long day.
