Hey aalriy,
Thanks for reaching out to me.
I guess my hypothetical question is this – "do you realistically have another choice besides Cox?" I'm sure that you could apply again, but there's something fundamentally wrong with many of your application (with 11 rejections), and I would bet that it may have something to do with your essays. Has anybody else reviewed your essays? Anyone who successfully applied to a top 15 or so business school? I would start there, and that person tell you something is off – and they need to be brutally honest with you – however uncomfortable.
If you do plan to go to Cox, I would thoroughly examine the career center before entering. What companies come to recruit at Cox? How many students did these strategy consulting firms hire out of Cox in the last two or three years? How do the current students rank the efficacy of the career center? Have you talked with anyone from the career center or any current students? What is the recruiting process look like at Cox and how early does it start? If you want to get a strategy consulting job out of Cox, you may have to do a lot of legwork or build a relationship with a current student or alumni that has either worked or is working within a strategy consulting firm.
Respectfully,
Paul Lanzillotti

Hi Everyone,
I’ve taken the GMAT thrice and have gone through the application process twice.
With 6yrs of IT experience, a highest GMAT score of 710, 11 dings and 1 admit (@ SMU – Cox w $$) over the last two years, and an aim to build a career in Strategy Consulting, is accepting the SMU – Cox admit a sensible decision? Or I should re-visit the application I prepared?
Your inputs will be highly appreciated.
Thanks!!
