Hey man,

Just want to send you a quick note and give you a major congrats on this accomplishment. This is huge and something majority of us strive for. I can't wait until the day I get to share a story like that with the rest of the GC family

So, what did you do when you found yourself in a slump? I am stuck on Number Properties which is one of my weakest areas: divisibilities, primes, etc...The DS questions on divis and primes stump me the most. Sometimes, I try using prime boxes. Other times I try using example numbers. Do you have any advice for me? I've been going at it for 2 weeks now, going on the 3rd and not getting this material down is driving me crazy!

Thanks,
T5G

Hi Top5Gun,

I'll be honest with you that it has been almost a year and a half since I took the GMAT, and I don't really remember strategies about specific areas (e.g. number properties) anymore. Believe me, the moment I saw my 750 score, I started purging all the GMAT information from my brain and started moving onto the application process :) However, I'll tell you that number properties is an area that I too was really struggling with initially. I am glad that you have taken note of your weakness in this area, and are eager to work on it though, since I believe that this is a really important part of the quantitative portion of the exam.

I remember that for myself I just kept reading and reviewing the MGMAT number properties book, which does a great job explaining the number properties that will come in handy on the exam. Definitely do the MGMAT practice problems at the end of each section and do them again and again if you have to. The MGMAT book will also direct you towards some official GMAT problems from the OG that test those concepts, so I highly recommend drilling those at well. If you keep reviewing these concepts, they will eventually become second nature to you. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but eventually. I remember I sucked at number properties and kept reviewing these, and one day everything just clicked (well maybe not at once, but one concept at a time).

Hope this helps.
