I LOVE your debrief and have to do the same jump in one month: being in need of 720+, I've just scored 690. Like you.

One week is out because I have TOEFL scheduled next week, but three weeks is still A LOT to pull it off :)

Great Score. Great persistence. I'd like to add that you were in a good shape with 2-4 hours of sleep. Unfortunately for most of us 6 hours is a minimum with 7-8 being ideal. Everyone is different however I personally noticed that my performance suffers significantly even with 5 hours of sleep. At 6 hours I'm OK. And my optimum performance comes between 7 and 8 hours of sleep. This is a limiting factor in terms of how much time one can put into the study given you are working a full time. Besides while the weekend is an ideal time to study at least one day should be a day OFF to avoid a burnout.

Btw, what was your stress management technique?

I guess that is the thing with me. I can function with very little sleep, so I was able to continue through the material night after night. I also didn't really need to take too many days off, although of course I did that from time to time.

Stress was not really an issue for me, but when I'm stressed I usually try to put things in perspective.. that there are many more people with bigger problems on their hands than a stupid exam. While there are those who struggle to survive or put food on the table, my biggest worry is hitting a target score on an exam or pursuing further education. Other ways I manage stress is just take a day off from studying, pampering myself with a nice massage, eating a lot of good food, taking vacations (but still studying while on them), working out, etc. Though, I think as long as I saw that I was making steady progress and my hard work was paying off, I never felt too stressed.

Thank you so much for your post!! I really identify with how your described yourself and your success helps to give me hope about getting a top score after my disappointing 620 (Q37; V38) on Monday.
Thanks!

A time will come, when they will sing the songs of my glory. I promise this, not to you but to myself. And then I would consider myself a worthy son of soil. Till then, I banish myself from all pleasures.

I think we can all agree that your post is very informative and useful. I especially appreciate the detail and scope of your debriefing. It must have felt great to see that score pop up on the screen, and have the burden of preparing for this challenging test finally lifted. It inspires me to achieve beyond my former expectations.
