Stepa
Hi, I am international student in Finland. Graduated from low ranking school (Arcada) International Business program majoring Finance (3.7 GPA)
Took a GMAT and got 654 score. I would like to get into Finance masters. My experience: 1.5 years controller trainee level at tech startup, part time volunteering as finance manager at nonprofit organisation. Currently financial analyst at a family office.
I know my experience is not outstanding and my bachelor is also a weak point.
Which schools do you think I could apply to ? (Masters Finance)
Hey
Stepa , I hope you are doing well!
Your profile seems good for finance master’s programs, with strengths in work experience and GPA. Your experience in finance roles, from startups to family offices, adds practical value. A 3.7 GPA is competitive and shows strong academic performance. A 654 GMAT is good, if possible, consider retaking for a 670+, as it’ll strengthen your candidacy. You have to use essays effectively to show how your work experience compensates for your school’s ranking. Highlight your finance volunteering as many admissions teams value community involvement, especially in finance-related roles, as it shows initiative and a desire to contribute beyond profit-driven environments. You shall consider applying for a mix of competitive and accessible programs.
These are some schools which you can have a look at Rotterdam(MSc Finance), Frankfurt (Master in Finance), Bocconi (Master in Finance), ESSEC (Master in Finance), IE Business School (Master in Finance) and others.
If you’d like,
we are happy to discuss more details about your academics, work experience, leadership roles, challenges faced, achievements, impact, post- MBA goals and extracurriculars to assess your chances better and strengthen your application with impactful stories.
Cheers!
