Linda,
Wanted your input on my situation.
Took the gmat over the weekend - (690,Q-48(86%),V-35(77%))
Do you think I need to retake to get into a top-10 school? Verbal is below 80% - a concern?
I think I can increase my score to 720-730 with another 1-1.5 months of prep- is it worth it or should i concentrate on essays/app?

If you want to apply this year ( and you should) an extra 10-30 points on your GMAT will not make a big difference and your 77% verbal score is a minor concern, not a major one. For more on the GMAT's role in admissions, please see "
The GMAT in MBA Admissions" Your time now can be better spent on community service, school research and visits, and the essays.
