hookem324's numbers sound correct. aj1545, you got only 1 point more than me in raw score in verbal and got 20 points higher overall...

I got 49/40 730
He got 49/41 720.

He did equal in Q and better in V and has a lower overall.
Doesn't compute to me.

The overall score is calculated seperately, and doesn't depend on your raw score. Your Q49 and his Q49 may not mean that both of you performed equally well in quant. Here are some figures from my GMATPrep tests and actual test:
GMATPrep1 : 710 (50Q, 38V)
GMATPrep2 : 720 (50Q, 37V)
Actual : 730 (50Q, 38V)

Thanks for the explanation!! I thought that the raw was directly proportional to the overall! Now I know.

Gmat Prep Materials: GMatPrep.exe, Manhattan Reading Comprehension book (got for free at a manhattan infosession... didn't use the books but the 6 free CAT tests were great!), Princeton Review 'Cracking the GMAT' and the Official Guide. No classes and about \$60 in books, hopefully get most of that back when I resell. Studied semi-regularly for a month, then piled on the practice tests in the 3-4 days before the test.

Also recommend you search for 'GMAT' in bittorrent.
