Hello,
I am an Israeli national looking to apply to B-schools in the US.
I would like to know which schools I have a viable shot of getting in with my statistics. I am aware that a lot is riding on the essays in the applications, yet I am sure that some schools can ride me off due to different things. I am also aware that in a sense, I am competing against other Israelis who are applying to top programs.
Stats:
GMAT: 700 - 47Q 39V (? don't remember exactly the verbal )
GPA - Computer Science CB, a bit low: 3.1 converting 79/100
Work exp.
- 1 year of sales and support experience to the US market (part time)
- 3 years exp. in software programming in 2 Israeli start-ups geared
to the international market (4 upon acceptance to MBA)
- 3 year military service (mandatory) heading 4 soldiers in charge of
finances and canteen in air force base
Volunteering:
- participated in international student festival
- websites for non-profit organizations
-anti drink-drive campaign
Post MBA - looking to work in product management, marketing or strategic consulting, in the hitech or entertainment industry.

ARe you male or female? Your current work is part-time. Is that by choice? If so, what else are you doing? Isn't a 79/100 quite high by Israeli standards? From what school?

First off, I am male.
My first work experience was part time, during school (1 year of sales). The rest of my experience is full-time software programming.
My grades are not considered very high - they are slightly higher than average. I was not an honor student. Needless to say, Comp. Science is a difficult degree, plus I was working at the time. There is a definite upward trend through my grades - while my first year grades are pretty low my third year grades are considerably higher.
The school I received my degree from is called the Academic College of Tel Aviv-Jaffa, and is considered a very good school for Computer Science in Israel. I am not sure if it is known outside of Israel, however.
I am leaning towards more west-coast schools as a personal preference but would like to consider all schools.
