vasukinandan, no need.

Yes, it would be prudent to wait another year (if not two) and use that time to methodically build your profile. Tons of stuff to do rather than keep redoing the GMAT!

Cheers,

I scored a 760 on GMAT (Q49/V46). However, due to lack of preparation in IR I didn't end up doing so great on it and score just IR 5.

I have completed my Masters and M.Phil in Economics.

I currently have 2 years of work experience mainly in the fields of Economic Analysis and Public Policy.

Should I appear for the GMAT again? I mainly plan to apply for M7, but would most likely be applying next year. But obviously, I can't hope to repeat the score of 760+.

Greetings,

I am an ISB Alum, CO15, and have been assisting applicants to get into global business schools since then.

Congratulations on your GMAT Score. Don't worry about taking it again. Many aspects contribute to a strong application. If you're willing to take a year before applying to the M7 schools I suggest you methodically build your profile. Take up leadership responsibilities and try leading various projects in your work. Focus on the results that you are generating during this time. Also, work on some extracurricular activities outside of work, and pick up some hobbies. Work towards making a well-rounded application.

Good luck!

Hi vasukinandan

Firstly congrats on the 760 GMAT, IR anything more than 4 should do the job. Yes, you can apply for any M7 program. However, considering the same, getting into a top MBA program is tough, While the top B schools get only a few successful candidates.

Each B school is unique in its way. applicants need to determine what their target school expects from waitlisted applicants. Try to dive into greater depths of the previous year’s class profiles at the schools that interest you. B-Schools always appreciate it if you recognize their unique qualities and what separates them from the rest of top-tier business schools.

You can try your Chances of schools by trying unique school predictor tool for free.

Hello vasukinandan,

You have a great score and a 5 on the IR is alright. So, you needn't worry. You must now focus on putting forth a strong application.

Good luck!
