since subjunctive ,this looks fine
(B) that the focus on texts authored by women should be the same as on a text having comparable literary importance
"should" can't be used here as its subjunctive .makes no sense to say " i require you should do something."
(C) to focus the same on texts authored by women as on texts of comparable literary importance that were
i can't really pin point an error.so keeping it
(D) to focus the same regardless of whether a text was authored by a woman or is one having comparable literary importance
wrong comparison ."one having comparable literary" isn't parallel to "a text was authored by a woman"
(E) to focus as much on texts authored by women as on a text having comparable literary value
"on texts ...a text" not parallel
between A & C ,A conveys the meaning of subjunctive mood much better .IMO A
