If a newly divided cell is placed in a rectangular vat 6 inches by 8 inches by12 inches, and after an hour the vat is full of yeast, how long did it take to fill half the vat?

B. 24 minutes
C. 30 minutes

In \(1\) Hour the vast is full of yeast. It takes \(2\) mins to divide, therefore half would be reached at \(58^{th}\) min.

So every two minutes it divides

0 min - 1
2 min- 2
4 min - 4
6 min - 8
8 min- 16
Etc.

Why does the question say, it becomes 8 after 8 minutes. Shouldn't it be 8 after 6 minutes?
