Oh thank god!! I looked at this question for a minute not believing the error could be so obvious.

I dont think we will be getting any of these in the real test, will we?

We need the noun to come after the introductory modifier 'A prolific architect who worked from the turn of the century until the late 1950’s'. B,C,D and E are all out.

A is best.

+1 A

The subject has to be a person.

A prolific architect (a person)...., Julia Morgan (a person)

Sometimes, easy questions make somebody doubt about his own knowledge. This is one kind of those questions. The non-underlined part is the initial modifier which start with person, so we need person in the main part that is underlined. Only choice A is appropriate here.

Straight A - Because other options have modifier errors.

Should be an easy A. The rest of the options have modifier problem.
A prolific architect who worked from the turn of the century until the late 1950’s
The above phrase is modifying Julia Morgan. So Julia Morgan should come immediately after the phrase. Please give me kudos. I need them badly to increase my score.
