Its B.

Using 'more' in addition to 'superior' is redundant. If 'more' isn't present, then 'than' shouldn't be used. Hence 'superior to' is the right usage.

So that leaves B&C. C is just wordy

(A) are more superior than dogs as far as household companions are concerned
(B) are superior to dogs as household companions
(C) are superior to dogs as far as household companions are concerned
(D) are more superior to dogs as household companions
(E) are superior household companions than dogs

Just wondering between B and D. The only difference is of the word "more". I guess it is okay to say more superior and I feel that will retain the original meaning from A in a better fashion.

Thoughts?

In my opinion, "as household companion" in option B modified "dogs". So it compares cats with specific dogs.
Whereas option C remove this ambiguity.

Will you pls suggest what I am missing out here.

TheNightKing More superior is redundant and unidiomatic. The correct idiom, as mentioned by Hital , is superior to.

More superior is like saying 'more better' or 'repeat again' :tongue_opt1 , again redundant

(C) Is wordy. Moreover it does not convey the act of being household companions. This option might have been better with the use of companionship, i.e., as far as household companionship is concerned.

Simply put, (C) provides no value that (B) can't provide, and uses more words, incorrectly.
