Hi
akash7gupta11,
Trust me, gun violence is something that worries most people in the U.S. (I have a school-aged child, so the school shootings in particular terrify me).
I do think that, on some level
everything in this world has the potential to be fatal -- i.e. we can try to do thing X very carefully, only to then die in some sort of freak accident or have a random heart-attack. So if you have your heart set on attending a U.S. school, I'm not sure I would let potential gun violence be the main thing to dissuade you.
That having been said, you can look to go to schools in countries with more stringent gun laws. Canada comes to mind (and their visa allowances for international students is much more generous than it is in the U.S.). Switzerland also has a very low gun-violence rate, though the opportunities there are probably a lot smaller.
Hope this is helpful! And let's all pray / meditate on / do our best to make this world more peaceful
Best regards,
Maria from
