Hi
Brazilian is B Colombians is C
The mean is 60
C is +15 and B is -10 from 60.so the ratio is (10/25 to 15/25 or 2/5 to 3/5).
Since 60 is closer to B, there are more B than C and C will be 2/5
2/5 of 1000 is 400

Option 2 : B+C=1000 ( 50B+60C=50000)
50B+75C=60000
Solve for C and get 400

A wholesale coffee distributor wants to blend a Brazilian coffee bean that costs 50 dollars per pound with a Colombian bean that costs 75 dollars per pound to make 1000 pounds of a mixture that costs 60 dollars per pound. How many pounds of the Columbia beans can the company use?

A. 200
B. 250
C. 400
D. 600
E. 750

Let x be the weight of Columbian beans

50(1000-x) + 75x = 60*1000

=> x = 400

Hence, OA: C

Let, Columbia beans cost x dollar
75 x + 50(1000 – x) = 60,000
75x + 50000 – 50x = 60,000
