hazelnut,
Am I wrong in believing that the phrase "the reason of/for xyz is " can be followed either by a clause or a noun, and in both cases the sentence would be correct?

E.g The reason for the stock market crash is the unexpected currency demonetization.(followed by a noun)
The reason for the stock market crash is that the prime minister suddenly demonetized the currency. (followed by clause)

Are both of these sentences correct ? If not, what would be the modification?

Thank you

In "B", we are using two conjunction 'but because' continuously...
Is it right in sentence construction.
Plz explain.

According to Nassim Taleb, the reason that most successful Wall Street traders make more money than their peers is not that they are more skilled but because they are lucky.

A. the reason that most successful Wall Street traders make more money than their peers is not that they are more skilled but because they are lucky.

B. most successful Wall Street traders make more money than their peers not because they are more skilled, but because they are lucky.

C. the reason for most successful Wall Street traders making more money than their peers is that they are lucky and not because they are more skilled.

D. most successful Wall Street traders make more money than their peers because of their luck, not because they are more skilled.

E. the reason why most successful Wall Street traders make more money than their peers is that they are not more skilled but lucky.
Correct answer must be (B), for the highlighted errors in other options....
