Hi everyone - congrats! Is there any reason I should wait until March to pay my deposit vs. paying now?

Time Value of Money !

Or if you want to get done with the vetting process as soon as possible (taht's what I want), you should pay now and forgo the 6$ of interest (4% interest on CD)

Have you been vetted yet, Falibay? Has anyone who paid their deposit?

Hey guys!

I will most likely be attending Booth in the fall! Booth totally saved my ass. Ha.

It's funny how I almost didn't apply there. I only did so, since I was in Chicago to visit Kellogg and ended up loving Booth!

I have the same experience. I thought that Kellogg would complement my Quant background well and that going to Booth would be redundant. Now, I really like Booth and did not even apply to Kellogg.

The one thing I am very happy about: Lots of great people from Gmatclub are going to Booth and that will be exciting! :-D

I totally understand what you mean! I have been wowed so many times whenever I got in contact with Booth students and admission officers. Their campus visit program and reception were professionally and flawlessly executed.

Now that I am all set, I should start thinking about where to go on RandomWalk!

I paid my deposit! I signed all the forms but I know my recommenders haven't been contacted yet for my background check. As soon as I know everything is good I'm going to decline my other offers.. so I hope I get the okay soon!

Good! I'm so happy to hear you and falibay are going to be joining us this Fall! Booth is a great school, I've never felt so welcomed before by another school - it's going to be a great time in March and this Fall, I'm super excited :)

Also - we are getting together the Thursday before Admit weekend, if you guys are interested you should also reach out to Rhyme.

Looking forward to meeting you! I submitted my deposit on Thursday, no news yet , obviously.

I have not booked my tickets for the admit week end yet, and may come Thursday night. But will do my best to show up early.

Interesting (and long) article about how University of Chicago's free-market principles are being challenged today:

Long but very interesting article. Whether you agree with Friedman or not, it makes me feel good going to Chicago. At least for someone interested in finance :)

Well, Keynesian principles were challenged before, and here we go again...

Economics is not an exact science, and so there won't be exact answers for problems.

One thing that people take for granted is that UofC is only about Friedman, and you guys will discover that there are other streams of thoughts here, though the one the School is well known for is the predominant.

El mundo gira.

Hey soni- the DC meetup was on Saturday. It was organized through the Booth google group. Only a handful of us showed up, but it was fun - sorry you missed it!

I bought plane tickets for the wife and I this weekend; we will be at the March admit weekend, and will be coming in early enough to meet up with y'all for dinner. I can't wait to meet everybody (for the second time, in the case of Rhyme, Kwam and Soni)!
