Peeps at DAK - I hope you guys have an awesome time!

I'm curious to know about your experiences when you get back. I'll be bugging you all with deep, insightful and hard-hitting questions such as:
- What did you like about Kellogg? What didn't you like?
- How was your visit compared with other schools you might have visited?
- Did it make you want to attend Kellogg? Why/why not?
- What are your fellow admits like?
- What were your top three takeaways from the weekend?

Last year what we did was to send around a PM with all the people going and everyone put their real names. Most of us who were on facebook friended each other so we would know by sight. We also included what section we were in during DAK, our JV's name if they were coming and cell numbers. More than a few people had other GC people in their sections. I heard this is the largest DAK ever so even with a decent size group it wont be easy to find everyone by looking at name tags.

Include steel and me on any PM stuff and we can give you guys some hints as to who we might be. Though I have interviews on Friday so I probably wont be on campus much. I am leading a dinner group on friday night though.

SolarMBA - I think the biggest drawback I saw with the Kellogg laptop is the 5.5 lb weight. The X200 is nearly 50% lighter (although also about 50% more expensive). I like the service that comes along with the laptop program, but at this point I'm still leaning towards buying an X200 and adding a 3 year onsite warranty.

My take on the laptop...I have one. Its a great idea for one reason. If you have something go wrong you get a loaner in like 15-20 minutes. Last thing you want is to be without a computer for a few weeks or something. The computer is heavy and beefy but thats good imo since it gets lugged around everywhere and usually its stuffed in a bag filled with books and stuff. Almost everyone has them too so if you are in class and dont have a power cord and your battery is dying its a pretty easy thing to borrow one.

I am not the biggest fan of the laptop but the advantages of the program make it worth doing.

Does anyone know whether Kellogg's IT department offers independent on-site warranties for non-Kellogg laptops? I'm wondering whether to buy a Best Buy / Micro Center type 3 year warranty (usually $200-$300) or if Kellogg IT has a similar service.

Personally, I think Kellogg's recommended laptop is overkill (not to mention kinda expensive - Fatwallet anyone?) for the majority of school work we'll be doing over the next two years (spreadsheets, web surfing, email, word processing, etc.).
