Mav you dont want to go to both DAKs, you will become a person of ridicule...there was someone who did that in our class and it is a joke that still gets made today.

Unfortunately I just got into a Thursday night class (6:30-9:30), so I won’t be able to meet you guys for dinner anymore. Hopefully, steel or mgoblue2 can step up to the plate and help you out...maybe even recruit some other students to attend. Wish I could make it but there is no way I can skip the class.

That's unfortunate riverripper! Hopefully we'll still see you at some point during DAK2 :)

River, sorry to hear you won't be able to make it. Well, then where should we go for dinner? I was recommended the following places by the great folks at Zagat, but I'm open to whatever suggestions anyone has.

Quince - New American, https://www.quincerestaurant.net/
The Stained Glass - New American, https://www.thestainedglass.com/
Jilly's Cafe - New American, https://jillyscafe.com/
Jacky's Bistro - New American, https://www.jackysbistro.com/

Quince is supposed to be fantastic - but I haven't been there before. The Stained Glass is fantastic, but expensive.

Never heard of Jilly's or Jacky's....

I should be able to come on out for the Thursday night dinner. Will try to get MGOBLUE and a couple others to come as well.

Quince and Stained Glass are pricey and fairly fancy for a gmatclub meet up haha. Jilly's and Jacky's are way too far away.

My advice stay relatively close to the hotels where you guys are staying or the bars you will be heading to for the DAK meetup.
The pub side of Pete Millers (pub/american)
Mt Everest (Indian/Nepal)
Thai Sookdee (Thai obviously)
Olive Mountain (Middle Eastern)
Koi (Chinese/Sushi)

Isa...you need to not worry about grades. Seriously its not an issue here except for a select group of people and they are the same type of people who would be hard charging for 4.0's at every school. Do your best if you could get a 4.0 at Booth, HBS, Tuck, Duke, Ross...well then you could get a 4.0 at Kellogg.

Thanks riverripper - I'm just curious about how the curving works and if there's any. I know some schools will say that they'll curve classes around something like a 3.3 or a 3.0, just curious how Kellogg does it. :)

Core is 40% get A's, 50% get B's, 10% get C's. Electives instructors have more leeway in grades, I know some follow those guidelines too but others dont give out C's...some give more A's than B's. Definitely unlike my experience in undergrad where you got what you earned. There are people who get <70% in a class and still get B's.

I think I might make it guys - I need a break, if nothing else. Going for the 20 hour flight in, stay for three days, 20 hour flight out routine. Yes, I'm insane.

Anyhow, I vote for PIZZA. I haven't had Chicago style pizza in AGES. And please nothing fancy - if I make it I'll be going straight there from the airport after a 20 hour flight.

Again, yes, I'm insane.

(not confirmed yet - the trip, I mean. The insanity probably is.)

Wow, that's a ton of A's and B's. Nice!

Sent in my deposit today and had my transcripts forwarded from my UG last week, so it looks like I am official. I'm headed to Kellogg.

Congrats!

Do you know if we have to send the transcripts directly from our UG school or if it's okay to send them from ourselves (in an envelope sealed/stamped by the school)?

I personally sent mine in a sealed and stamped envelope, and they accepted them as official.

rca- I also sent transcripts in an sealed envelope signed by my school's registrar, and Kellogg was fine with it.
