Most places set up leases starting August 1st, and a lot of buildings know which units are available due to graduating 2nd years.

Would it be harder to get a lease starting earlier in the summer? I'm mulling the possibility of moving earlier for a few different reasons, but maybe that would pose a challenge.
I am sure plenty of grads who are leaving would willingly depart early and allow you to move in. My lease ended at the end of July but we moved out at the end of June and a new tenant moved in at the start of July. Saved me a good chunk of change and they wanted to get in. Talk to the landlords, before you sign anything just ask and they can reach out to the current tenants and take care of it for you. For apartment buildings the management company probably can give you a list of units along with availability.

Hey all

I'm planning to fight to Chicago for Day At Kellogg.
For those planning to go there (or current student) do you know if there is a need to bring a suit?
What is the dress code during the whole event?

You wont need a suit. They will provide you will all the details ahead of time and logistical requirements.

Have any of you guys received your financial aid packages yet? I'm waiting to do my FAFSA until I fill out my tax return, but I'm really anxious to see if I can get more scholarships/what the final cost will be..

Does anyone know if it's ok to provide an estimate for adjusted gross income when filling out the FAFSA and make any necessary adjustments later? I have not received my W4 from my employer yet so can't calculate an exact number. Thanks!

Yes - you can submit the FAFSA with an estimate but ultimately the amount needs to match exactly with your filed tax return. If it's different you'll need to submit a corrected FAFSA.

According to the Welcome website, you have to submit your FAFSA and Kellogg's FinAid application before they can send you anything. It also says there that packages will start going out mid-Feb. My takeaway is that the only scholarships offered independent of this process were given out during the admit calls.

Hey did any international students receive any scholarships yet? Last year the admissions office started calling around mid- January to inform about scholarships (usually the ones around $15k).

Actually, I got a call with my scholarship offer only about two weeks ago. No mention of a scholarship was given in my admit call.

On the Welcome Website, I believe it said payment would be due for the fall term on September 1

Thanks! For some reason, I assumed it would be much sooner.

You will have to pay a nonrefundable tuition deposit (I think it's $2000) when you confirm your enrollment. The deadline for that for R1 I think is early March.

I had a great time! They did an awesome job putting the weekend together and showing off the culture at Kellogg.
