Hello,
If you could give me some advice, that would be greatly appreciated. There is no one I know who can help.
I hold a Master of Science degree and worked as a researcher for 6.5 years in the medical industry before being promoted to product manager, a position I held for one year. I recently resigned and am now considering two job opportunities: business development associate in a research company vs. clinical research manager in a medical company. It will be my final position before the MBA in the US.
On one hand, having some business experience may help me land a job after graduation. On the other hand, I imagine that recent MBA graduates are expected to have little business experience, so a strong clinical background might provide an advantage when applying for business-oriented jobs in the medical field. Does anyone have advice to share?

Unless you have a strong bias against the doing management for a pharma company or in medical field, I suggest you to join a medical firm. This will show the admission board that you are clear in your goals and medical profession has been your clear goal. Also, you will get better management job opportunities in medical field.
however if you want to choose a different path for your career, you can choose the other job. But be prepared for questions in interview about why you chose different field after working 6 years in medical industry.
Best of luck
