Hello,
If you could give me some advice, that would be greatly appreciated. There is no one I know who can help.
I hold a Master of Science degree and worked as a researcher for 6.5 years in the medical industry before being promoted to product manager, a position I held for one year. I recently resigned and am now considering two job opportunities: business development associate in a research company vs. clinical research manager in a medical company. It will be my final position before the MBA in the US.
On one hand, having some business experience may help me land a job after graduation. On the other hand, I imagine that recent MBA graduates are expected to have little business experience, so a strong clinical background might provide an advantage when applying for business-oriented jobs in the medical field. Does anyone have advice to share?

Hi HaSmamit hope you are doing well

Experience as a business development associate would demonstrate that you have taken judicious steps to pivot into the business domain and got good experience on the ground with real business problems, client insights, etc,. It seems logical that you get some organized and structured learning by pursuing MBA after gaining exposure to a variety of roles since you have already served a long tenure as a medical researcher. So cross-role experience in business would surely help you accelerate your learning in MBA program.

Best wishes
