egmat I have a doubt In the sentence , Genetics have found that the Neanderthal DNA was more similar to human DNA than to chimp DNA. Was is in past tense so how is using have grammatical correct?

Option A should be the same as in Question? In Question: have found that the Neanderthal DNA was more similar to human DNA than chimp DNA. in Option: have found that the Neanderthal DNA was more similar to human than chimp DNA Removed DNA after human. I just got confused with this option. But anyways D is spot on. Thank you.

dividing the sentence into chunks to understand the meaning of the sentence.. 2 clauses--- a)After comparing the Neanderthal DNA to the same stretch of DNA from human mitochondria and to equivalent chimpanzee DNA, geneticists have found b)that the Neanderthal DNA was more similar to human DNA than chimp DNA. breaking down-- geneticists compared the Neanderthal DNA to DNA from human mitochondria and to chimpanzee DNA.. they arrived at something... what is it?? that the Neanderthal DNA was more similar to human DNA than chimp DNA. comparison is ambiguous.. why?? 1. whether geneticists comparing Neanderthal DNA to chimp DNA. (Neanderthal DNA was more similar to human DNA than was chimp DNA) 2. whether geneticists comparing human DNA to chimp DNA. (Neanderthal DNA was more similar to human DNA than to chimp DNA) both options can be correct.. going through the options... D is correct
