Hi Everyone,

Got Admitted to UofAlberta Full-Time MBA Class of 2022. Happy to see others joining me as well :)
I was hoping if admitted students can join a https://gmatclub.com/chat group (or literally any other medium where we can connect) for ease of convenience.

Timeline of my application:
Application Submission - Feb 1, 2020
KIRA - Feb 19, 2020
Interview - Feb 27, 2020 [Charlene Patry]
Forwarded to FGRS - March 1, 2020
Acceptance Letter - March 11, 2020

The process looks smooth but could differ for individuals.
Congratulations to all students who got admission :)
Good luck to those still waiting in different steps of the process.

Hey Everyone,

I have created a https://gmatclub.com/chat group of admitted students.
Individuals who have received an admit or have their applications been forwarded to FGSR could kindly connect with me to join the group.

I have an admit from Alberta.
Anyone else here, too?

Congratulations on receiving the offer of admission. I do have an admit as well. Drop your digits in a personal message and I shall add you to the group.

I received the admission letter as well. Is there any group to join??
Thank you :)

Hello everyone !

I received an email from Chris the day before stating that my application had been forwarded to the FGRS.
Looking forward to hearing from them regarding the admit.
Guess I am a little late to join the party. Heres a timeline of my application :
Application Submission - 24 Mar 2020
KIRA - 05 Apr 2020
Interview - 15 Apr 2020 [Chris]
Forwarded to FGRS - 16 Apr 2020

Looking forward to meeting all the admitted students.

Hi!

I've applied as well (on March, 26), but still waiting for the decision. Could you share your profile?

Hi,

I have submitted my application for the MBA program at University of Alberta on 28th March 2020. I wanted to know how long it normally takes for the Admissions committee to notify you whether you've been selected for the first interview or no ?

In my case, I got an invite for the first interview, 11 days after I had submitted my application.

Hi!

I'm new. I just had my Kira interview and I feel like I didn't do so well because I was very nervous and anxious. Has anyone experienced the same but were still invited for a final interview? I am worried that I might just have blown my chances for admission.

Okay, so turns out my Kira interview was okay. I have been invited for a second interview via Zoom or Phone (I chose Zoom).

Any tips, guys? I'm so anxious!

Okay here are some points I would suggest:
1. Prepare an outline of answers to expected questions such as why UofA, why MBA, career goals, both long term and short term and how are they aligned to the program offered by UofA.
2. Although you have prepared some outlines but don’t sound as if you have mugged up answers, biggest advice anyone can give you is to be calm and spontaneous. Give original answers, if not sure about something tell honestly that I am not sure or I don’t know a lot about it, that’s it and it will be a breeze.
3. Very Imp: Read about the curriculum and give them an idea about which career track you want to get into, which subjects seem interesting to you, in short relate to the program so that they know you have researched well.

All the best.

I just had my final interview with Aileen. It was a very pleasant experience. She was very nice, calm and conversational, which tamed my anxiety and helped me relax. She told me that she will meet with the rest of the committee (?) by late next week to discuss and decide on my application. She said that if they do consider me for admission, they will forward my application to the FGRS, who will then send me the official letter of admission (which she said may take a few weeks).

I noticed how some of you here were informed that your application had been sent to FGRS right away--only one day or a few days after your interview. Having told that I may have to wait until the end of next week to know my application status is making me anxious! Does anyone have a similar experience and can you share it? What are the chances of being accepted/rejected after the final interview?
