Hi Everyone,

Got Admitted to UofAlberta Full-Time MBA Class of 2022. Happy to see others joining me as well :)
I was hoping if admitted students can join a Whatsapp group (or literally any other medium where we can connect) for ease of convenience.

Timeline of my application:

Forwarded to FGRS - March 1, 2020

The process looks smooth but could differ for individuals.

Hi,

I have submitted my application for the MBA program at University of Alberta on 28th March 2020. I wanted to know how long it normally takes for the Admissions committee to notify you whether you've been selected for the first interview or no ?

In my case, I got an invite for the first interview, 11 days after I had submitted my application.

Okay here are some points I would suggest:
1. Prepare an outline of answers to expected questions such as why UofA, why MBA, career goals, both long term and short term and how are they aligned to the program offered by UofA.
2. Although you have prepared some outlines but don’t sound as if you have mugged up answers, biggest advice anyone can give you is to be calm and spontaneous. Give original answers, if not sure about something tell honestly that I am not sure or I don’t know a lot about it, that’s it and it will be a breeze.
3. Very Imp: Read about the curriculum and give them an idea about which career track you want to get into, which subjects seem interesting to you, in short relate to the program so that they know you have researched well.

I just had my final interview with Aileen. It was a very pleasant experience. She was very nice, calm and conversational, which tamed my anxiety and helped me relax. She told me that she will meet with the rest of the committee (?) by late next week to discuss and decide on my application. She said that if they do consider me for admission, they will forward my application to the FGRS, who will then send me the official letter of admission (which she said may take a few weeks).

I noticed how some of you here were informed that your application had been sent to FGRS right away--only one day or a few days after your interview. Having told that I may have to wait until the end of next week to know my application status is making me anxious! Does anyone have a similar experience and can you share it? What are the chances of being accepted/rejected after the final interview?
