I just had my final interview with Aileen. It was a very pleasant experience. She was very nice, calm and conversational, which tamed my anxiety and helped me relax. She told me that she will meet with the rest of the committee (?) by late next week to discuss and decide on my application. She said that if they do consider me for admission, they will forward my application to the FGRS, who will then send me the official letter of admission (which she said may take a few weeks).

I noticed how some of you here were informed that your application had been sent to FGRS right away--only one day or a few days after your interview. Having told that I may have to wait until the end of next week to know my application status is making me anxious! Does anyone have a similar experience and can you share it? What are the chances of being accepted/rejected after the final interview?

Application Submission - 15 Apr 2020
KIRA - 07 May 2020
Interview - 15 May 2020 [Aileen]

Okay, so here’s the thing, my interview was also conducted by Aileen, yes! she’s very nice and calm. She said almost same thing to me that she’d meet with others and come back within next week, but the good thing was that she wrote back within 3 days saying that they had decided to forward my application to FGSR :) The important point to note here is that I had a positive feeling after the interview so if you too feel that the interview went good then be positive and relax, I hope you’ll be admitted.

All the best.

Wow, that is very comforting to hear! I hope to hear sooner from her, too. And indeed, I had an overall positive feeling regarding the interview, so I really hope it also means that I'll be admitted.

Thank you so much, DV! You've been really helpful throughout this entire ordeal!

Hi Loklord. The exemption was not automatically given to local candidates as we had to meet certain requirements still. I got an exemption because of my grades and GPA in my Master's program.
