The splits among these answer choices appear to be based entirely on meaning and awkwardness. C and D alter the meaning through the omission of "may", incorrectly implying that it is definite that many of the most elegant examples of skyscraper architecture are found in Chicago, and B and E are passive and awkward.

A) Passive but looks grammatically correct!
B) 'where may be found' - shows un-certainty, which is not the intent.
C) 'it' - Pronoun error. What does it represents?
D) 'you would' - stem is not talking about 'you' or any direct reference.
E) Weird construction.
