Anyone can take the GMAT, however I would suggest gaining some work experience first then if an MBA still interests you then go ahead and study for the GMAT. You just don't want to waste your time if business or an MBA is something that you eventually are not interested in

thanks for the reply.I want to know that at the age of 34 it is not possible to get job easily.least chance are there so If I qualify with good score in gmat will I able to get good college no matter in India and if suppose I get college will I be placed in any good company.

With a good GMAT you may be able to secure entry into an MBA program. Will certainly be tough at a top program in the US because with no work experience your attractiveness to employers may be limited. It does not hurt to take the GMAT see how high you can score and then take your shot at a few schools then re-evaluate your decision

Hi Pooja,

At your age, you will be eligible for the Indian executive MBA programs, but all of them require some prior work experience. All the programs that accept the GMAT score (IIMs, ISB, Sp Jain etc.) give weightage to work experience - ISB requires a minimum 2 years WE, where as the IIMs require atleast 5 years.

Try exploring options with IGNOU or other open universities.

Just to add - Executive Programs are definitely an option, but you need to understand how it's different than an MBA - even a part-time MBA. Depending on your goals and your current career progression, you should target different programs. To be clear - technically, you are eligible for any program as age isn't a prerequisite. It's just that some programs are better suited for you than others. To dive deeper - take a look at our videos on how to select programs here.
