I advise all non natives who are getting a v (34-38) in mocks to not give the exam before you cross 40. The reason is you can get a 700 with a 50 35 but the range from 33-37 is a very dicey or risky range as your concepts are good but not great. For a non native during test day pressure can drop your score to 28-32 leading to a 620-660 . When you are getting a 42-43 your concepts are soo solid that you won't slip below 40. Make your verbal solid like math when you are confident to that level then give your gmat.i had a 540 in my first attempt had fever and personal problems. Second attempt 640(q50v27) though was getting 700( around q49-50 and v34-36) in my mocks even before the first attempt. Finally i thought let me demolish english. I improved in verbal from 34 to 42-43 I got a 720 in my 3rd attempt q49v40 . I had to guess the last 4 in verbal due to time crunch or else would have a 750 and a v42. So you see i faced pressure and even had to guess but still was solid
