I know it says Skype vs on-campus does not impact chances, but is that really true? Won't it help if you show the effort to visit the campus for the interview and sit in on a class, especially if you're in the US?

Hi guys,

I think you shouldn't worry so much by this extremely-early interview appointments.

An Associate Director of Admission explained in a presentation -less than two weeks before this year R1- that reviewing order is a little bit complicated. I think he said that they kind of group/order based on country/industry, other factor playing a secondary role.

He also said that he was expecting a surprisingly small amount of applicants from my country. So it makes sense that they reviewed my app so soon.

Every time I see an email pop up with the word "Anderson" my heart starts beating faster. I am sure that I will loose some weight during this waiting game. :)

Hey guys
I got the interview invitation too,
but I wasn't able to get on a computer to schedule mine until now..
and the online Skype interview slots are all taken!!

Does anyone know whether I have to go for the on-campus interview
or they're going to open up more slots for the Skype interview or not?

I'm replying to my own question cuz I got the information
Anderson is making more room for the off-campus Skype interviews
and I just reserved a seat for myself.

There are like 3 more seats left,
so if anyone got the invitation and didn't reserve a seat,
grab it now!

October 22nd around 8 PM CST

From what I can tell, 3/4 of the interview slots for on campus were already taken so I'm not sure if that's an indication on how far they are in the invites

Congrats and all the best. Now they are inviting 700's :) I hope my time will come soon. It seems they are grouping similar profiles together and sending the invites. It seems they are filling the class group by group. Wow.

Any other accounting professionals got the invites?

Hi Yamus,

As far as I understand, it does not matter when you have submitted the application. See whether any others with similar background(country/profession) as you are already invited. If yes, then don't lose heart. They will consider you again in December after a lot of interviews are done in November. And again they will consider you at the time of decision date.

This is just my rough analysis(and some wild guessing) of how UCLA adcom operates (after going through last year thread).

Hi there
I submitted extreeeemely early (24/8) and still got no news. Maybe they are processing the files LIFO...
Most people told me I have a competitive profile for Anderson so keeping fingers crossed :-)

Good luck everyone !

Hey I think lot of people apply to Standford, Haas, and then UCLA as a fall back option? So may be they are holding you back just to make sure? I am not implicating you with the same theory though ;)

I am pretty sure they are not doing LIFO though. I THINK they are grouping similar profiles and filling the class group by group.

I think doing an on-campus interview not only gives adcom a chance to understand you more, but also gives you a chance to put forward your best effort.

Got my interview invite about an hour ago. Submitted my app a day before round 1 deadline. Does anyone know the story behind interview invites for Anderson? Do they interview lots of people, or relatively few compared to how many they admit?

Congrats and All the Best. My profile is a lot similar to yours. But I do have a huge career break and I am from India. Only positive thing is that I am a female applicant. I know that it will not compensate my career break. Let us wait and see.

Thanks for reading, Yamus! Not so sure what my actual admission chances are, but time will tell :)

Got my invitation last night :-)
All the best to all of us !

I am wondering why they ask for official test scores again. I has already selected UCLA when I took the GMAT and the TOEFL earlier this year. Should I pay again to get the scores resent ??

Congrats on the invite. As part of the UCLA application process you do not have to report the official scores to them. So with the interview invites they ask you to send the official report. As you have already sent the report, ideally you do not have to send again. However, best thing is to check with the adcom. I have sent the scores to UCLA two years back when I took my GMAT. But, UCLA adcom told me that I will have to send the scores again if I get an admit.

Best,
Prodizy
