I didn't realize that I needed one till they emailed me last week. I have been working in the U.S. since 2005 and I didn't really think I would have to prove my written and spoken English proficiency. How long did it take for your waiver to get approved? Also, was your application put on hold while your waiver request was being reviewed?

Does the AD Com create a new UT ID when they start reviewing our application? I got an email with the new UT ID--is this normal?

This happened to me. After I called them I was told that my name in my application did not matched EXACTLY the one I of my GMAT & TOEFL ...

Call them and ask them to merge your two UT IDs so your documentation can me matched with your application. Otherwise, your application will not be considered complete.

Ha, this is something that happened to me, too, that I forgot to mention when describing the problems with my app. I just had them merged.

So let me ask you guys a question. The reason I ask is that I sent them my GMAT scores and undergrad transcript about three months ago, and I have not been assigned a UTID. If they have random documents that are not linked to an application, do they just go ahead and create a new ID? I'm now worried that they never received any of the supporting documents I originally sent them, since I was never notified of a UTID being created. I submitted my app on the 15th and have not heard anything from GIAC and my status still shows as no application submitted. Very frustrating.

So let me ask you guys a question. When you were informed that the documents did not match exactly, had you sent in your paperwork (transcripts, GMAT, etc) long before hand, or did they create the new UTID around the time they got your application? The reason I ask is that I sent them my GMAT scores and undergrad transcript about three months ago, and I have not been assigned a UTID. If they have random documents that are not linked to an application, do they just go ahead and create a new ID? I'm now worried that they never received any of the supporting documents I originally sent them, since I was never notified of a UTID being created. I would just email them. They're really pretty helpful.

I submitted my app on the 14th Jan and have not even got the payment request till now. I am going to send the waiver request this week and I think it will take two weeks for them to process the request. Did you receive interview invite from McCombs?

Just got the call from admissions- I'm in!!

I've got until March 15 to decide and they told me that I'll have scholarship info in 3-4 weeks.

Preview weekend is April 1 and 2.

I applied Round 1.

More specifically, I applied 10/22, paid my fee 10/25 and interviewed on 12/2.

Hope this helps! They told me when I called last week that decisions are generally released 10-12 weeks after your application is completely submitted (i.e. all scores, transcripts, recommendations, and the app itself are all in and fee is paid).

That's frustrating that you are waiting for your official email/letter. I got an email within 10 min or so of the call. Maybe it's because I'm a later Round 1 admit? If anything, you're definitely right about the process going a bit slower there.

I was accepted on 12/17 and still haven't gotten a physical letter. I got an email about 10 days ago. The AdCom at Texas isn't on the ball.

I got an official letter, with the USB drive today. I got the call Dec 17 or so and my status officially changed the first week of January. Yeah, the admissions process isn't the best, but I think that has something to do with the fact that they rely on current students on the Admissions Committee to do alot of the grunt work, and that they were out from mid December until last week. I still like the program, and will probably matriculate.

I actually really like the program as well, but it really hurts the perception of the program when problems keep coming up. Either way, I'm unlikely to enroll, but we'll see.

Yeah, I think they're just slower than other schools. I met members of the MAC (McCombs Admissions Committee) and they do a lot of work, so I'm not going to complain. It's voluntary and you have to respect people who devote that much time to something while taking a full-time courseload.
