Any person who drops out of high school will be unemployed unless he or she finds a low-paying job or has relative with good business connections.

Assume that Tom is employed and does not have a low-paying job. Which one of the following statements, when added to this assumption, contradicts the original statement made in the statement above?

contradiction would be if he was a high school dropout and didn't have any relative with good business connection!

(A) Tom is a high school dropout.- he could still have relatives with good business connections

(B) Tom does not have relatives with good business connections.- he might not have dropped out of high school

(C) Tom is a high school dropout and does not have any relatives.- correct

(D) Tom is completed high school and has relatives with good business connections.- this agrees with the argument!-opposite

(E) Tom has relatives with good business connections.- again agrees with the conclusion!

Assume that Tom is employed and does not have a low-paying job. Which one of the following statements, when added to this assumption, contradicts the original statement made in the statement above?

(A) Tom is a high school dropout. - WRONG. Does nothing.

(B) Tom does not have relatives with good business connections. - WRONG. Its open with loose ends. It can go either way. If Tom is a High School Dropout then it contradicts or if he isn't then it makes no difference.

(C) Tom is a high school dropout and does not have any relatives. - CORRECT. Being a high school dropout how Tom is employed in a non low-paying job, possibly high paying job.

(D) Tom is completed high school and has relatives with good business connections. WRONG. Not concerned for someone who's completed high school.

(E) Tom has relatives with good business connections. - WRONG. Is Tom high school dropout? The answer takes it in two directions.

IMO Answer C.
