Hi,
i have heard that an indian applicant faces quite a challenge while applying to top american b- schools, more so as an engineer
Hi Sunnysinghsohal! Thanks for your question. And the answer is that all Indian applicants for US B schools face a crowded pool- however having a humanities background does actually help you stand out-- and your 780 GMAT score (wow and congrats!) is not going to hurt either! Anything that you can do that is a slightly different twist can help you break through in a crowded environment. Although you also have to have all the "other" things too - like great work experience, clear understanding of what you want to do post MBA and why the MBA makes sense for your goals, why a particular school is the best place for you to study... etc. So there is not a cookie cutter easy answer. I'd say rather than worry too much about things out of your control...how many candidates are in the pool from India... focus on what you CAN control- making sure you have done your research on the above questions, getting great work experience and performing well in your job, etc. If you'd like some coaching to help you present in the best possible light- that's what we do! You can get a free consult with us at this site: https://stratusprep.com/free-consult/ Best wishes as you prepare for your MBA!what i want to know is whether people like me ,from humanities background, face similar problems too?
