MBA v/s Masters in Management: Which One Should you Choose?

An MBA or a Masters in Management? This is a question that almost every college senior comes across at some point of the application process when deciding on the future. The dilemma is clear: MBA vs MiM is essentially about whether one should one opt for the Masters in Management immediately after the undergraduate program or wait for a few years to apply for the MBA (For those wondering if there are any options to go for an MBA right after college, the answer is YES – see the post for more details).

Outside the early entry options to top MBA programs, applicants therefore have two clear options – an MiM now or an MBA later..MBA Admission Consultants India

One Year MBA Programs in Europe: Beyond IMD, LBS, and INSEAD

One year MBA programs in Europe, unlike similar programs in other regions of the world, are not a new phenomenon. Europe has been the pioneer and also the largest adopter of the one year MBA model. Traditionally, however, it has been known more for the top options that it has – INSEAD (France), LBS (UK), and IMD (Switzerland). Over the last decade, though, and increasingly over the last five years, a number of other programs have emerged as top contenders too.

One Year MBA Programs in Asia: India Dominates

One year MBA programs in Asia have had a strange history. At the turn of the century, such programs were virtually non-existent. Then the Indian School of Business (ISB) opened its doors in 2001, pioneering the concept of the one year program for experienced professionals in India. Till then, the flagship programs of the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), each of a two year duration, ruled the roost completely. Initially, the one year concept was met with skepticism, but ISB’s wild success in a short period forced even the IIMs to go for a rethink. At different points in the following years, the IIMs launched executive programs of their own, different from their flagship programs. Some other top Indian B-schools have followed...MBA in Asia

Best One Year MBA Programs in USA

Sometimes, two years can be one year too many. One year MBA programs have their own advantages besides just the one year you end up saving. These include lower opportunity costs, more rigour, and the chance to more quickly get back to work, as just three. No wonder, the one year MBA has gained excellent traction across geographies over the last five years. In the US, most schools were slow to catch on to the trends, but their one year MBA programs now offer salaries, learning, and reputation that is at par with the two year options..MBA in USA

INSEAD MBA and HKUST MBA Programs Admit for Merchant Navy Professional

A Merchant Navy MBA tale still isn’t quite that common. Plenty of people from IT, Manufacturing, Banking, and Consulting may go the MBA way, but the Merchant Navy professionals still only trickle in. However, the tide is slowly turning. Some Merchant Navy professionals are now seeking better opportunities on shore. The sailing can get tiresome after a while, and staying away from one’s family for months together each year can make the entire experience taxing. And, above all, Merchant Navy professionals with advanced business education (read: MBA) behind them are in high demand on shore..MBA in Europe

1 On 1 GMAT Tutoring: the Advantages of a Personalized Approach

Sometimes GMAT test-takers are looking for more than a GMAT tutoring program that can help them to understand concepts and apply them. Perhaps math is not your strong point.

Maybe you struggle in evaluating logic. Or your reading speed is unusually slow. These learning needs require more than the focus that a typical GMAT tutoring program (that is usually done in a class in a batch of 5+ students – some even do as many as 20 in a class!) can provide. One on one GMAT tutoring can help address these specific learning needs much better..1 on 1 GMAT

ISB Admissions Success Story: Does Being from an IIT Help?

The ISB non profit landscape is competitive. This may strike many applicants as surprising, since most people tend to think that it is engineers and techies who dominate the applicant landscape the most. That is true, but people applying with a non profit background don’t have it easy either. Not only must they establish the importance of what they are doing, but they must also clearly demonstrate the need for an MBA, which can be much more difficult to do coming in from a non-corporate background. Ironically, though, Lipika’s journey starts from her corporate..Success Stories

Best MBA in Singapore: Which MBA Programs to Choose

Which is the Best MBA in Singapore? Is it the prestigious INSEAD, the much-vaulted NUS, its perceived lesser cousin Nanyang (or NTU, as some refer to it), or the fast emerging SMU? For MBA applicants who would like to explore the potential of Asia, there are few programs that have the pan-Asian appeal of MBA programs in Singapore.

The city itself is known as Asia’s hub for business, and almost every multi-national business organization that operates in Asia has an office (and in most cases, its regional HQ) in Singapore..Best MBA in Singapore

SMU Singapore MBA: GyanOne Interview with the Admissions Team

The SMU (Singapore Management University) Singapore MBA is fast becoming a popular program for applicants across Asia. The Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University’s business school, offers the program in a 12 month (full-time) and 18 month (part-time) format. This is one of the few excellent one-year full-time MBA programs in the Asian region. Asia in general, and Singapore in particular, are seeing rising interest in their MBA programs, and the SMU MBA is among the top options for an MBA in South East Asia. The program is relatively young (established in 2008), but its course content, industry links, top faculty, and excellent career services are already placing it high one the lists of MBA applicants..SMU Singapore MBA
