Hi HKUST,
One more question about background check. Is HKUST conducting any background check, and if there is any, when? I'm asking because currently my boss still doesn't know I'm applying for a MBA. I'm now involved in an important project which I want to finish before I officially resign. However, if a background check is to be conducted, I will certainly cooperate and notice my boss up front to reduce confusion. Thank you.

In terms of employment background check, what we do is to require our candidates to submit their employment proof and salary proof. Your employment contract, letter issued by the HR department or salary slip will be fine. You may or may not involve your current boss in providing us the proof, so it depends. If you put your current boss as one of the referees, then definitely he will be notified about your MBA application. Otherwise, not at all. So it depends. If you don't want to notice your boss about your MBA application, perhaps you shouldn't put your boss as the referee and don't get him involved in any employment proof you provide us.
