Hi, This question can be easily solved by eliminating choices that show redundancy or pronoun errors. B is the best among all options.

I have one question . Does Meaning wise "The body" tells specific body? The makes things specific? Meaning wise is this question incorrect?

It is OK to refer to an entire group (here "body") by using the definite article "the". Here "the" does not refer to a specific body but bodies of all human as a group.

The eye is our most valuable sense organ. ..correct.

Concepts used:
less is used correctly
cause-effect markers
adverb : severely
parallelism : when traveling <x> than when traveling <y>
comparison: <x> days than <y> days
participial modifiers: shortened days vs shortening days
participial modifiers imply who is doing (subject of action) vs who it was done to (object).
e.g. The man throwing the ball is my uncle. (The man is throwing at the time of mention - i.e. verb tense)
vs The man is using a punctured ball. (The ball is already punctured - but we don't know by whom, just that it is punctured).
shortened days - days that are shortened when people adapt to them
shortening days - days that are shortening when people adapt to them
- I won't go supper aggressive on this distinction, but it has a slight meaning change

Because the body adapts more readily to lengthened days than to shortening them is why most people experience less severe “jet lag” when traveling westward than when traveling eastward.

(A) Because the body adapts more readily to lengthened days than to shortening them is why most people experience less severe “jet lag” when traveling
1. because <x> is why most people experience <y> (as opposed to saying - Most people experience <y> because <x>)
2. lengthened is not parallel to shortening
3. people adapt to days that are shortening at the time of adaptation.
4. the body adapts less readily to shortening them - confusing?

(B) The body adapts more readily to lengthened days than to shortened days, with the result that most people experience less severe “jet lag” when traveling

(C) Because the body adapts more readily to lengthened days than to shortened ones, so most people experience “jet lag” less severely when they travel
1. Because <x>, so <y> - redundant
2. severely (adverb) modifies experience (verb) -- something is off. e.g. I experience more severe pain (than before) vs I experience pain more severely (than others do) or I experience pain more severely (than anger).

(D) Because the body adapts more readily to lengthening days than to shortening them, most people experience less severe “jet lag” when they travel
1. "they travel" not parallel
2. the body adapts less readily to shortening them - confusing?

(E) The body adapts more readily to lengthening days than to shortening them, so most people, as a result, who experience “jet lag” less severely when traveling
1. fragment - most people, who <x> (missing verb)
2. the body adapts less readily to shortening them - confusing?
3. so <noun>, as a result, <modifier> - multiple cause-effect markers with fragment sentence
4. severely (adverb) modifies experience (verb)

Hi experts,

Sorry for tagging you guys like this. Although this is a very basic question, please help me!

In the OA(B), what does the phrase starting with 'with' modifying? If I am not wrong it is a adverbial phrase modifying the verb adapt. Is that correct?

Kind regards,
Akash
