non underlined portion mentioned clearly is than when traveling eastward
so, the underlined portion must be parallel to non underlined portion.
when traveling westward than when traveling eastward looks better.
so, only option a, b and e does it.
among the options.
in A and E , lenghtened days to shortened days is parallelism not maintained.
so option B is correct.
apart from above error analysis, in option C usage of Beacuse is dependent clause,
it follow with independent clause. after comma usage of so becomes dependent clasue. so it is run on sentence and both usage of beacuse and so for reason
