Hi there!

I am an Indian applicant, GEM with an undergrad degree in Engineering (Electrical & Electronics; CGPA: 6.82).

My GMAT scores are as follows:
1. Attempt 1 - 670 (V35Q47)
2. Attempt 2 - 690 (V34Q49)

I have ~5 years of experience working with startups. My experience spans Software Development, Project Management, Customer Success and Sales (my current role). What B-schools should I apply to with a realistic chance of admission?

Hello rohansinha123,

Thanks for your query.

While GMAT is almost mandatory to gain admission to any business school abroad, you would at least need 100 hours of preparation time to get a good score. It is very much suggested to re-take GMAT as your UG score is lower than most of MBA's class average. With the rising demand for a skilled and qualified workforce in the job market, the competition for MBA admissions is only getting tougher. Though it may appear that a good GMAT score is the ultimate road to an international MBA admission, you should remember that it is only one component of the admission process.

Most business schools officially claim that they do not have a cut-off GMAT score or even an average score. However, if you take the average GMAT score of any class of a business school, you will get at least a ballpark number. Also, you should know that business schools around the globe offer admission to outstanding candidates with below-par GMAT scores.

Hi there,
If your profile is strong, don't let the GMAT hold you back. Over the years we had many candidates who were admitted to top MBA programs with GMAT scores under 700, as you can see here: https://www.aringo.com/aringo-top-mba-gmat-results/
