I have an Amazon client who is actually transitioning from Tech lead to product management right now. The schools listed above are all complete except for surprisingly Foster is also a feeder for Amazon product managers

I do realize that, but was still a bit surprised they worked with them. Not a bad school, but that could be as picky as they want, regardless of who is next door. Working on school selection right now with that client and trying to research if Foster will pull him up through the ranks. Or if it will be better for him to just go full time and leave his job.

I recommend going to a quality school near a tech hub like SF or Seattle. That way you can build relationships with other PMs in the area. In the bay area, GSB and Haas are good for this. In Boston, I'd recommend HBS or Sloan. Not sure about Seattle, but proximity to a hub will help quite a bit.

Also, a good idea if you can make friends with folks at the engineering school.

Amazon is one of the top employers from my MBA program (Haas). I believe we had two or three Amazons PMs for my class.

https://www.haas.berkeley.edu/groups/car ... ummary.pdf

While I was an MBA PM intern at Google, we had fairly even representation from HBS, Stanford, Haas, Wharton, Sloan, and Chicago. I think as long as you go to a top 10-15 MBA program, it's more about having the right pre-MBA / engineering academic / technical background to break into PM than what specific school or classes you attend.
