It's a 2nd-tier/3rd-tier college but I guess it is still a pretty good school.

At least you don't have to worry about your fees and the interest rates upon graduation. :)

Congratulations!

I would take the scholarship
You don't want to have 100,000 in debt staring you in the face when you graduate. I am not sure of the interests rates international students get, but I am guessing they are slightly higher. If you have the cash or other financing, I don't think it really matters:)

Hi Paul,
I have been admitted into Boston Univesity full time MBA with a scholarship of 70k for two years.
It was actually my safe school.
I have also applied to
Kelly - Interviewed, waiting for the decision
Purdue - waiting for the decision
Smith - Interviewed, waiting for the decision
Rotman - Interviewed, waiting for the decision
I am sure of an offer from Smith and Rotman.

My profile- Indian
GMAT 710
GPA 8.08/10 ( top 10 college in India)
Extra Curr Good
Exp 4 years in IT (CRM)
Goals - strategic Consulting

What do you think about the offer? I know Boston is not too high in the ranking but it has a good placement and also the place provides a lot of oppurtunities. How do you rate Boston compared to other schools where I have applied.
Can I contact other schools so that they can make their decisions on my applications which will help me in making my decision.

Thanks,
Mohighmin

Mohighmin,

Allow me to add my congratulations. They must like you. Generally speaking, Boston is not as highly ranked as Kelly or Purdue, but it places its MBA at serious firms and its average post-MBA salary is a respectable $81K. If your goal is to work in the Boston area, then I would not hesitate. In fact, the only reason I would hesitate at all is if Kelly, Purdue, or Rotman offered similar money.

I think it's Ok for you to *politely* inquire at the other schools about your situation. There may be nothing they can do to speed up the process but no harm in asking.

Good luck,

Hi Paul,
Thanks a lot for your inputs.
I have also been accepted at Maryland(smith) but the scholarship decision will be out on jan 15. I hope the other decisions are also out so that I can make a good choice. May be I need some more inputs from you then.

Thanks again and have a wonderful new year.
Regards,
Mohighmin
