Dear kchamp,

We recently published a blog post on exactly this topic here. You will find it pretty relevant.

Dear all,

I had attended an admission session for ISB and the question that I had asked the speaker from ISB was whether if I quit my job and study for GMAT, I shall be considered for admission to ISB.

The speaker replied in the affirmative and said that you could have breaks in your employment and we still consider you for admission to ISB and even if that break was for GMAT.

So my question is whether ISB has actually admitted persons who have breaks in their employment or persons who have quit their jobs to study for the GMAT.

I am a Chartered Accountant with 4.5 years of post qualification work experience in Big 4 accounting firms. I want to pursue an MBA but I am unable to study for my GMAT due to my stressful job at the Big 4 accounting firm.

If I quit my job and study for GMAT, whether I shall be considered for admission at ISB?

Thanking you in anticipation.

Hey dude, if you are talking about just pausing your job for one month and then going back to it, it's not even a break, and if you need that time to ace the GMAT, then take it.

If you are talking about QUITTING your job to take a break - that's probably a terrible idea.

Hope this helps,
JF
