Hi Paul, hope this question isn't too out of the ordinary to the usual profile evaluations - thanks for your help in advance.
INSEAD has a question under the section "Job Essays" (note: it says "essays") that reads:
2. Please give us a full description of your career since graduating from university. If you were to remain with your present employer, what would be your next step in terms of position? (250 words)
My question:- is it OK to write the answer in "CV" format rather than essay format, giving the titles in chronological order with some work samples? (see example below) Or would they expect something in paragraph-sentence format, since it is a job "essay".
E.g.
Consultant, ABC Partners, Sydney; 2003.1 - 2005.6

Completed projects focusing on the Financial Services sector, mainly taking analytical roles.
Sold and personally led projects valued at US$2Mn
Example projects:

Senior Consultant, DEF & Co, New York; etc..

No, you should answer it in essay style. You want to give more than just the bare resume-style facts: you want to give your career a unifying theme or sense of coherence, and you want to explain the "inflection points" (why Company A to Company B), both of which you can really only do in an essay.
