I was offered admission yesterday via phone call. She notified me at that time of 5k scholarship + offer of Grad Assistant which pays $11k per year. I interviewed oct 4th and submitted a day or two after the early round closed.

Hey Guys!

Anybody has any idea is to how this waitlist thing works?.... I mean if a college has 80 seats does the waitlist means that 80 seats are filled and we have to wait for ppl to drop or doesit mean that they have given admit to lets say 120 ppl and we come after that ?

Anybody has any idea is to how this waitlist thing works?.... I mean if a college has 80 seats does the waitlist means that 80 seats are filled and we have to wait for ppl to drop or doesit mean that they have given admit to lets say 120 ppl and we come after that ?

I do not have any confirmation on how this works, however, I would still believe that since there are 4 rounds of selection, so they would be selecting 30-40 candidates in Round 1 and keep another 20 as waitlisted students and proceed to the next round, until they get more clarity into the quality of applications being received in that year. If the waitlisted application is significantly stronger than the average ones in Round 2, then the waitlisted candidate is converted into admission.

Admit after being initially WLed :-D :-D but no info on scholarship..how long after the admit mail did you guys get the info on scholarship?
