Alberta does not really have application deadlines. They admit students on a rolling basis so you would not be at a disadvantage but it is advisable to finalize your application as soon as possible

Hi,

I just completed my application and I gave 1 Academic and 1 Work reference. I read in the portal that both references should ideally be from work but I couldn't really do that because few of my supervisors had shifted jobs. Will this affect the weightage of my application?

Even I had a similar situation but you could still ask your supervisors who have shifted jobs to write you a reference letter. You can provide their new company's email address where they would get a link to fill in the LOR details. I think you can still change referees after submitting the application as well but im not sure on that.

I submitted my application on 3rd January and I guess my both recos were submitted within a week. They will only review your application once the recommendations are submitted. Don't worry they will definitely reach you sooner or later.

I can't put my finger on the exact reason. But probably the low GPA was the deciding factor.
