hmm...i'm not sure if that's true, the website says the following:
"September-term Early Decision applicants will receive a final decision from Columbia Business School within 10 weeks of the date that a complete application goes under review."
and a final decision is defined as: "Final decisions can be admission, denial of admission or wait list"
I think they can take their time depending on how soon you interviewed (for instance, the person who received his decision 5 weeks later probably got his status to complete within 4 weeks of his application going under review?)
The only reason I'm so impatient is bc I didn't think about applying anywhere else R2 (bc I figured since Columbia was my first choice, if I didn't get in, I would just reapply next year), but now im reconsidering....
As for the thank you letter, not sure whether or not that's common...but I dont think its any sure fire indication of denial..maybe others would care to share (I'd love to hear from someone who got admitted and didn't receive a thank you email response
