Do you have almost or above 80%ile on both Q and V. That's all that counts is what I've heard.

Although I had a quant UG major with good grades in a lot of quant courses... my GMAT Q was a 70th percentile. Strictly my opinion here, but I don't think it's a big deal as long as you're over 700 total and everything else in your profile adds up.

Have a 84th percentile in Q and a 70th percentile in V, total of 680, which is an 86th percentile.
Long shot, have 6 yrs of interesting work-ex in a unique field, hopefully that might count for something.

Is it a bad sign when an interviewer does not respond to your Thank You email? I sent her a thank you email on Friday, and she still has not responded. Oh well, I just found out today that my applicattion status went to complete so I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Same thing happened to me and I got quite worried, but after talking to my admissions consultant and some other previous year applicants, I don't think we should read too much into it...that being said, my interview went to complete last Tuesday and I still haven't heard anything

My question is that my 10 week date from submission will be next tues dec 2nd. However, I don't know if my notification will be delayed due to thanksgiving. Honestly, I was hoping to know before thanksgiving so I could work on back up R2 apps if needed...any ideas or should I call the school?

The 10 week thing has no meaning once your interview is over. They say either final decision or interview call by 10 weeks. There is no timeline from now onwards, all we can do is sit and wait. I've seen people receiving admits after complete status within a few days and as long as 5 weeks (some guy in bweek forum). Mine was approx 3 weeks if I remember right. Especially with thanksgiving, don't think too much it might take a while. Just keep faith and be happy you've done your part. Time to pray :)

Thanks for the reply. What exactly did you hear about interviewers not responding to thank you emails. It it fairly common for this to happen?

hmm...i'm not sure if that's true, the website says the following:

"September-term Early Decision applicants will receive a final decision from Columbia Business School within 10 weeks of the date that a complete application goes under review."

and a final decision is defined as: "Final decisions can be admission, denial of admission or wait list"

I think they can take their time depending on how soon you interviewed (for instance, the person who received his decision 5 weeks later probably got his status to complete within 4 weeks of his application going under review?)

The only reason I'm so impatient is bc I didn't think about applying anywhere else R2 (bc I figured since Columbia was my first choice, if I didn't get in, I would just reapply next year), but now im reconsidering....

As for the thank you letter, not sure whether or not that's common...but I dont think its any sure fire indication of denial..maybe others would care to share (I'd love to hear from someone who got admitted and didn't receive a thank you email response :) )

just called them and praz you were right! they said that the final decision given after 10 weeks could be either a final decision or refer to getting an interview invite within 10 weeks...which I think is quite sneaky...

not sure what to do now...should i start on R2 apps just in case?

theburgh I also had an interview last week and the interviewer never replied my thank you email. However, I don't think it should be that much of an issue. Interview went complete this morning. Good luck!! Hope we get an answer before Thanksgiving!

I'd suggest time for 2nd round apps. There is nothing to do for CBS, and considering most R2 deadlines are early Jan, you should be able to decide whether to submit or not later. Good luck!

Applying to Columbia for RD.

Had a question while filling up the application: In the extracurriculars section, do Grad school extracurriculars count as a 'During College' or 'Post College'?

Been 6 weeks, no reply yet. I am reconciled to the fact that it will be a ding for me. But i'm still keeping the faith. Wonder why though

Does anyone have any idea if CBS sends out interview invites post Thanksgiving....Will they send a mass mail for the ding candidates ?...Our could they still be deliberating about the ED candidates...

I know i'm fishing in the dark on this one but any thoughts on this would be great...

has anybody besides weeksuper whose application went under review the last week in october received an interview invite yet? My application went under review on the 26th and I have yet to hear anything. i've checked the spreadsheet and i don't see really anybody in that range getting invites (or maybe everyone stopped updating the spreadsheet).
