Just submitted for RD, after making some relatively large changes (or should I say, improvements) to my goals essay.

After dings on all my R1 apps, I'm really hoping this one turns out well. It's gonna be a long 12 weeks.

Number of people on NW reporting invites. I read a post from last year's CBS thread that the first two weeks (i.e. 2 weeks from today) are critical for early submitters.

Submitted the application yesterday... at 11.59 pm on January 6th, a minute before the deadline :-)

I am hesitating about applying to more schools with my relatively low GMAT (660, Q36 45%, V44 97%) in R2.

I will work very hard to raise my quant score and will try to retake the GMAT till R3 deadlines.

What do you think the definition of "early" is? People that submitted back in Oct/Nov? Or people who submitted before the Jan. 6 "start of reviews" deadline?

I recall during a info session the Adcom said "early" was before the holidays, as in they see a large spike of applications in the final two weeks before jan deadline. In that sense, I think Oct/Nov are definitely "early."

The 2 weeks reasoning makes sense. If you submitted in Oct, and they read in order, if people in Nov begin getting interviews, its hard not to think they passed you up already. So 2 weeks after the November people, how strong of a chance would you have, when they supposedly read your app before that?

Random question: for those of you who have been admitted, have you received an "admissions" package (other than the admissions letter in the mail)? Not sure if CBS does this, but I noticed on other threads that some schools do and wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on something... Thx!
