@vicksikand - Are you serious? is there any criteria that is left out from below. This is a generic response..

"Applicants are evaluated on several criteria, including academic preparedness, professional achievements, communication skills, extracurricular/community involvement, leadership, self-awareness, understanding the value of the MBA experience, and fit"
This in an excerpt from the ding letter--for those of you, who got dinged and are looking for feedback-- these few lines provide a good pointer on how to position ourselves through our application.
I wonder what 'scores' we got, based on the P&Q. Perhaps they had a raw score that is 'admissible' but the first x slots (slots they were willing to fill up during R1) were filled up by folks with scores much stronger than ours, though we're still admissible. So they got it first.

Dude...I never said this ding email has been tailored for me. These are just guidelines we need to address in our essays.
All I meant was that there is nothing in that email that adds any value to tailoring the application. Everything that any bschool looks for is there.. In fact judging by the number of parameters mentioned I almost feel that they took pains to make sure they covered all aspects and did not single out any one item.. These generic letters are useless.
I was wait listed in R1. My friend called admissions and they told him that they did sent updates to some R1 waitlist candidates. In case you did not receive any update, you continue to be on wait list

Going off of earlycareerMBA's analysis and finding that there are fewer R1 WLers this year than R1 WLers last year, one might conclude that Booth WL'ed applicants whom adcom really intend on admitting (i.e. fewer just-in-case profiles) which may explain why not many R1 WLers heard back today.
Anyway, looks like the big day is now 3/16th... g'luck everyone!

I was just going off of earlycareerMBA's analysis, not sure if you caught that on pg67... I should point out that I was just referring to %ages based off of GCers rather than the universe of applicants.

To my fellow Round 1 waitlisters:
We seem to be in pretty good shape. The waitlist % is lower this year (at least among GMAT clubbers) while the other stats have held fairly steady. Of the 20 waitlisters from Round 1 last year, 9 were accepted in March on the Round 2 decision date (1 with money) and 1 was accepted in May. Only 1 waitlist ding was reported and that was in March. 2 of the 20 reported withdraws before the R2 decision date, 2 were waitlisted through the summer, and 5 did not report after the original december waitlisting.
thank you thatsku for your extensive research and insightful comments....good luck to you and the rest of the WLers. I hope we can all get in!
