The program originally served as a solely undergraduate institution until 1916, when academically oriented research masters and later doctoral-level degrees were introduced. In 1916, the school was renamed the School of Commerce and Administration. Soon after in 1922, the first doctorate program was offered at the school. In 1932, the school was rechristened as the School of Business. The School of Business offered its first Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 1935. A landmark decision was taken by the school at about this time to concentrate its resources solely on graduate programs, and accordingly, the undergraduate program was phased out in 1942. In 1943, the school launched the first ever Executive MBA program. The school was renamed to Graduate School of Business (or more popularly, the GSB) in 1959, a name that it held till 2008. During the later half of the twentieth century, the business school was instrumental in the development of the Chicago School, an economic philosophy focused on free-market, minimal government involvement, due to faculty and student interaction with members of the university's influential Department of Economics. Other innovations by Chicago Booth include initiating the first PhD program in business (1920), founding the first academic business journal (1928), offering the first Executive MBA (EMBA) program (1943), and for offering the first weekend MBA program (1986). Students at the school founded the National Black MBA Association (1972), and Chicago Booth is the only U.S. business school with permanent campuses on three continents: Asia (2000), Europe (1994), and North America (1898). Academic Concentrations: Students in the Full-time MBA, Executive MBA, and Part-time MBA programs can elect to concentrate in one or more areas of study, although some concentrations' required coursework may necessitate schedule modifications for students enrolled in the Part-time program. How does the adcom decide who to interview ?
I have seen that most of the applicants have GMAT score of 740 and above. This has been the trend in other schools too.

The email said that interviews could be on campus or off campus. You request through the online system (there's a link in the email). If you haven't been to campus yet then an on-campus interview is good because they combine it with the visit program. Interviews must be complete by Feb. 24.[/quote]

No luck here either. I know there is a lot of time between now and the cut-off, so still hoping.

Interesting, my GMAT score in the application still shows that it hasnt been received. I sent it to the school when I took the test in December, so I can't imagine what the problem is. Hopefully that isnt holding up my application.

Interview timing does not matter just like the timing of when you received the invitations. Scholarship is determined at time of offering admission. Most are based on algorithm of your statistics such as GMAT/GPA, so in a way, it is already pre-determined if you qualify or not.

Do you guys think it really does not matter when we receive our invites?

Still a little defeated for not being on the first wave...

With that said, I wasn't in the first wave for Darden and got a full scholarship. But, I wasn't in the first wave for Wharton and ended up waitlisted.

So no idea how this goes.

Booth was my best app, I'm feeling so down.

MPG - I received my interview invitation in one of the last waves, and I was admitted with a significant merit scholarship. I totally know how you're feeling. Booth was the first interview invitation that I received, so during that initial wait, I started to freak out and became convinced that I wasn't going to get in ANYWHERE. The wait is tough, no doubt, but don't give up hope yet. Hopefully you will receive your good news soon :-D

Do not worry at all. I was admitted and my status still shows "Submitted".
Also my GMAT score was "Awaiting" untill few weeks after my admission. In many cases they check GMAT scores after admission. It is not a sign of anything (good or bad) that your GMAT score says "Awaiting".
