The program originally served as a solely undergraduate institution until 1916, when academically oriented research masters and later doctoral-level degrees were introduced. In 1916, the school was renamed the School of Commerce and Administration. Soon after in 1922, the first doctorate program was offered at the school. In 1932, the school was rechristened as the School of Business. The School of Business offered its first Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 1935. A landmark decision was taken by the school at about this time to concentrate its resources solely on graduate programs, and accordingly, the undergraduate program was phased out in 1942. In 1943, the school launched the first ever Executive MBA program. The school was renamed to Graduate School of Business (or more popularly, the GSB) in 1959, a name that it held till 2008. During the later half of the twentieth century, the business school was instrumental in the development of the Chicago School, an economic philosophy focused on free-market, minimal government involvement, due to faculty and student interaction with members of the university's influential Department of Economics. Other innovations by Chicago Booth include initiating the first PhD program in business (1920), founding the first academic business journal (1928), offering the first Executive MBA (EMBA) program (1943), and for offering the first weekend MBA program (1986). Students at the school founded the National Black MBA Association (1972), and Chicago Booth is the only U.S. business school with permanent campuses on three continents: Asia (2000), Europe (1994), and North America (1898). Academic Concentrations: Students in the Full-time MBA, Executive MBA, and Part-time MBA programs can elect to concentrate in one or more areas of study, although some concentrations' required coursework may necessitate schedule modifications for students enrolled in the Part-time program. Just finished my online application, but unable to print the proof that I wanted to email to a couple of trusted friends. I did it before, but today it's impossible! The message from the system is something like "internet explorer is unable to access the site". Any idea???

I just printed a copy of the application proof and did not face any issues..One of two things could be happening - 1. Either there's been some update to the site or your IE version because of which it is not printing (I am using Chrome BTW..) 2. Or there might have been a temporary system issue with Booth's servers.. Not sure, all I can suggest is to try it out again probably from a different browser...

Guys, Just submitted my apps and couldnt feel better. I realized, though, that I didn't put in a degree that I earned at my undergrad institution. So it says "Degree: No Degree". It was a Bach. in Business, and says so in my resume. Any thoughts on how this would be viewed?

Hey, I had the same question and called up the ad com office to clear up the confusion.. Ad com confirmed that this question only pops up on the application form if you indicate that you are a US citizen. However since the preview generation tool is common for everyone, that question appears for everyone in the previewed application (blank in case of non-US citizens).. Also, just as a heads-up for everyone, I observed that my mailing address was getting truncated in the previewed application. I checked with the ad com office and was told that the address is stored correctly in the back-end database. It is just a limitation of the preview generation tool that it cannot display long addresses. So no worries!!
