Had my interview today with an alum. It lasted almost one and half hrs!!! Told lots of stories. Questions include:
1. Walk through resume
2. Goals
3. Why MBA, why now and why CBS
4. Teamwork example
5. Ethical question
6. Other schools applied
7. Back up plans
8. How to contribute to CBS
Plus every bullet point under my current job description!!! (every bullet is an achievement so I had to tell like 5 stories!!!)

Hey guys, I'm just finishing deciding which schools I'll apply in RD 2 and I'm considering Columbia.

However, is it a really disadvantage to apply on late dec/early jan since Columbia is rolling? Or is it just like Round 2 of a lot of schools??

Can anyone with more knowledge answer this for me??

They get a large influx of applications before January 4th because that is the deadline for Merit Fellowship consideration. Best to apply ahead of that group since CBS is on a rolling admissions basis!

@ThePensum - Yes, I am January Term applicant, but I have not heard anything from CBS in over one month. Any thoughts? Is this normal? Did you get an email or a phone call regarding wait list?

It's certainly a long time given the proximity of the J-term start. If you go back a few pages to the stats I posted, after going complete it took only a week before they put me on the wait list.

Have you thought about contacting them to see what's going on?

Yes, I can confirm this...I asked the adcom this earlier in the process.

They only offer interviews with alum. If an alum is not available, your only other option is a phone interview with a current student.
